Uncommon Personalities: Meet Kate Bisantz

Kate Bisantz |UncommonGoods

Kate Bisantz, UncommonGoods Copywriter

My hometown is…
Lowell, Massachusetts. It’s the town from The Fighter movie and the depiction is pretty accurate.

My favorite project I’ve worked on at UncommonGoods is…
Writing the how to’s for our blog was fun. I love writing about writing, it brings me back to my senior year of college. I’ve also done quite a bit of hand modeling for the photo studio and it’s an excellent conversation starter. “Oh, I see you’re admiring my tasteful manicure. You probably recognize it from the Multifunctional Pasta Server photos I did a while back…”

I’m inspired by…
Three-legged dogs, writers who force you to reread a passage because it’s just that good, road trips through New England.

I’m passionate about…
The Boston Red Sox after August, rustic Italian cooking, and very long, drawn out metaphors.

An uncommon fact about me…
I’m a very specific type of lucky charm. I lived in Boston for 10 years, went to a Red Sox game 2-4 times per season, and I’ve NEVER been to a game at Fenway where we’ve lost. Bam.

My favorite place to hang out in New York City is…
Mission Dolores in Brooklyn. Outdoor areas, you can bring your own food, and puppies are always welcome.

My style is…
Clothing? Sundresses and denim jackets make my world go ’round. Décor? My mother said my bedroom looks like that of a 1940s chorus girl’s dressing room. It’s pretty accurate.

Since working at UncommonGoods I’ve learned…
That Elaine Benes had a pretty fun/challenging job.

Would you rather… get a tattoo of a word or phrase, only to discover a spelling error after the inking, OR be condemned to wear your hair in a ‘80s-inspired mullet for the rest of your life?
This is actually really funny because that tattoo option is a recurring nightmare of mine and I usually wake up in a cold sweat grabbing whatever part of my body had been tattooed. Be that as is may, my curly hair gives me enough issues without a mullet. Tattoo typo all the way.

Kate is a copywriter. Strangers would describe her as that very tall girl with glasses, as would her friends. She is pretty good at needlepointing, surprisingly good at bocce ball, and very bad at choosing between sweet and savory at brunch. She is well-liked by most dogs.
